With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Louise Combest of North Vernon, Indiana, born in Seymour, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 25, 2024 at the age of 66. She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Dewey Bush and Elsie Jean Bowman (Stout); and her parents-in-law, Samuel L and Joann Combest. She is survived by: her husband Samuel A. Combest; her children, Jennifer M. King (Coleman) of Crothersville, Amanda Jean Banks (Todd) of Brownstown and Daryl Lee Brewer of Scottsburg; her stepchildren, Dee Ponsler of North Vernon, Joanne Ownbey (Bryant) of North Vernon and Samuel A. Combest II (Wendy) of North Vernon; her siblings, Michael Bowman (Stacie) of Crothersville, Zane Bowman of Crothersville, Glen Bush (Pam) of Crothersville, Garland Bowman of Austin, Sharon Tuell (Jerry) of Austin and Miranda O'Sullivan (Robert) of Crothersville; and her grandchildren, Zachary Pearson, Robert Grove, Kaden Brewer, Dakota Grove, Dustin Brewer, Haley Brewer, Daryl Brewer, Chris Ponsler, Andrea Baker, Gary D. Amis, Alex Glenda, Kolton Combest, Karley Combest, Paisley Combest, Kaylin Combest and Aleah Combest.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home (420 S State St, North Vernon, IN 47265). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 8:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in honor of Karen through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
