He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Adah Burton Byard and Woodrow Burton Sr.; his siblings, Clay Burton (Nancy) and Shirley Branson (Von); his children, David Burton (Christi) and Julie Vance (Jeff); his grandchildren, Dylan Burton (Emma Estes), Damon Burton and Karlie Reynolds; his wife Sara Sue Shelton; his stepchildren, Melinda Swinney (David), Kimberly Evans (Gregory) and John; his children, Matthew Swinney (Bridget), Samantha Swinney (Nathan Collis), Rebecca Westerfield (Jarrod), Michael Evans (Evelyn), Mitchell Vance and Blaine Evans (Jenn); his grandfather John; his grandchildren, Sara Swinney, Zachary Swinney, Jamieson Swinney, John Westerfield, AnnaLeah Westerfield, Camille Evans, Maddox Evans, Alex Medina, Tracy Medina and Lianelys Medina; and his brother Woodrow Burton Jr. (Nancy). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
