With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joel Keith Smith Sr. of North Vernon, Indiana, born in Hamilton, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 16, 2024 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Smith and Judy Ann Smith (Morris); his former wife Sue Smith; his brother John Edgar Smith; and his sister-in-law Pam Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Jamie Lynn Smith of North Vernon; his children, Amanda Franklin (Adam) of Holton and Joel Smith, Jr. (Taylor) of Greensburg, Indiana; his stepsons, Eli Heath of North Vernon and Preston Heath of Westport, Indiana; his grandchildren, Cheyanne, Maxwell, Elijah and Jackson; his siblings, Lisa Frazier (Myrel) of Shelbyville, Indiana, Dean Smith of Hamilton, Ohio and Steve Smith of Hamilton, Ohio; his half-sister Jennifer Welch of West Harrison, Ohio; and his stepsiblings, Lori, Lynn, Lisa Kay and Nelson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Whitewater Christian Camp. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
