He was predeceased by: his parents, Issac Girt and Jennie Girt; and his siblings, Roy Paul, James, Robert, Thomas, Floyd, Elizabeth Chapin, Ethel Neeley, Naomi Summers, Ruth Speedy, Sarah Meeker, Linnie Kirby and Pearl Butchie.
He is survived by: his wife Rosalie Gilham; his children, Benjamin Girt (Vickie) of North Vernon, Peggy Fisher (Brian) of Oxford and Mark Girt (Linda) of North Vernon; his grandchildren, Christopher Girt (Danielle) of Tennessee, Stephanie Eaton (Rex) of Michigan, Nichole Campany (Mike) of North Carolina, Katherine Henry (Ben) of North Carolina, Ryan Stockdale (Ashley) of North Carolina, Amberly of North Vernon and Caleb Girt of North Vernon; his great grandchildren, Titus, Sophia Girt, Adelyn, Pierce Eaton, Gabe, Garrett Campany, Wil, Jacob Henry, Emmerson and Owen Stockdale; and his sisters-in-law, Kathrine Olds and Dorothy Pittman.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of God Nebraska (8180 E County Rd 540 N, Butlerville, IN 47223). A burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at the Otter Creek Cemetery N. County.
