She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Edward and Helen Ruth Pettit (Griffin); her husband John Richard "Hamburger" James; her nephews, Ryan Martin and Eddie Pettit; and her close friend Lowell McClellan.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jerianne Bateman of North Vernon and Andrea Campfield of North Vernon; her siblings, William "Bill" Pettit of Butlerville, Harry "Ed" Pettit of North Vernon and Karen Ruth Alexander (Robert) of North Vernon; and her grandchildren, Paige Bateman of North Vernon, Gavin Bateman of North Vernon, Lynn Bateman IV of Columbus, Carmen Smith of Louisville and Monte Smith of Corbin, Kentucky..
