He was predeceased by: his parents, George Horstman and Muriel Horstman (Detraz); and his spouse Edora Ann "Dody" Holmes. He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Horstman Bridges (Gary) of Columbus, Judith Horstman Morris (Andrew) of Westport and Rebecca Horstman May (Tom) of Noblesville; his grandchildren, Susannah Hallgarth (David), Jeremy Bridges (Shirley), Bethany Bridges, Benjamin May (Zoe), Philip May and Jo May; and his great grandchildren, Lilian, Oliver Hallgarth and Jade Bridges.
