With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elaine Manos Hirtzel of North Vernon, Indiana, born in Corydon, Indiana, who passed away on July 28, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Manos and Mary Manos (Kutche); and her brother Constantine Manos. She is survived by: her husband Robert V. Hirtzel of North Vernon; her children, Christopher V. Hirtzel (Kim) of Seymour, Indiana., Joyce Welker (Larry) of Greenwood, Mary Holycross (Greg) of Seymour and Barbara Hoene (Mark) of Seymour, Indiana.; her sister Katina Rackey of Fort Wayne; her sisters-in-law, Susan Manos and BethAnn Ashcraft; her grandchildren, Traci Cox, Suzanne Toppe, Ryan Hirtzel, Scott Hirtzel and Jennifer Wetzel; and her stepgrandchildren, Josh Holycross, Conner Hoene, Mayson Nolan, Laura Cochran, Mike Welker and Mark Welker.
The family requests that memorial donations be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon, Indiana or to the charity of choice in her honor.
