He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Gabbard and Barbara Gabbard (Glisson); his stepparents, Mary Ellen Wilson and Russell Wilson; and his sister Angie Gabbard Dunham.

He is survived by: his wife Colleen Ramey; his sons, Craig Gabbard (Ashley) of Jennings County and Jeromy Gabbard (Kelly) of Jennings County; his stepson Steele Case of North Vernon; his grandson Lucas Gabbard of Jennings County; and his brother Ken Gabbard (Velma) of Connersville.
