It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Van Horn of North Vernon, Indiana, born in Allegan, Michigan, who passed away on December 31, 2020, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brother Scott Van Horn; his father-in-law Dennis Wilhelm; his uncle Robert Van Horn; his niece Kara Van Horn; and his great-nephew Justin Bennett.

He is survived by: his parents, Herbert Van Horn Jr. of Bloomingdale, Michigan and Cherry Ilene Van Horn (Bush) of Bloomingdale, Michigan; his wife Joanie Van Horn (Wilhelm) of North Vernon; his children, Timothy Van Horn (Jessica) of Charleston, Molly Meador (David) of Scipio, Allison Raley (Wyatt) of North Vernon and Annie Wall (Daniel Santos) of Louisville; his mother-in-law Jeanine Wilhelm; his siblings, Herbert M. Van Horn (Sue) of Cleveland, Timothy Van Horn (Marie) of Allegan, Michigan and Barbara Strong (Steve) of Bloomingdale, Michigan; his siblings-in-law, Dennis Wilhelm (Beth) of Commiskey, Vickie Van Horn of Grand Junction and Jackie Hartman (Keith) of North Vernon; and his grandchildren, Isabella Meador of North Vernon, David Meador of North Vernon, Gunnar Raley of North Vernon, Granger Raley of North Vernon, Savannah Van Horn of Charleston and Harper Van Horn of Charleston. He is also survived by twenty-four nieces and nephews; and eighteen great nieces and great nephews.

In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines, only 25 people will be allowed in the funeral home during visitation at a time.

Memorials may be made in honor of Douglas through the funeral home to the Jennings County Community Foundation Community Undesignated Fund.
