He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Pelkey (Plimmer) and Lewis Pelkey; and his wife Elizabeth Ann Pelkey (Susie). He is survived by: his sons, Brian Earl Pelkey (Lisa Teeter) of Plainfield and Gary Dean Pelkey (Kelly) of Muncie; his grandchildren, Dr. Samuel Robert Pelkey (Vicki) of Lewis Center, OH, SarahAnne Pelkey (Colin Good) of Muncie, Robert Earl Pelkey (Kathryn) of Zionsville and Justin Donald Pelkey (Morgan Maxwell) of Greenfield; his stepgrandchildren, Scott Butsch of Indianapolis and Christina Butsch of Indianapolis; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Caleb, Kate Pelkey of Lewis Center, OH and Jacob Earl Pelkey of Zionsville; and his sister Ruth Dean of New Port Richey, FL. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to the First United Methodist Church of North Vernon or the JCHS Athletics.
