He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Brown and Alma McGuire (Medley); and his grandson Skylor Walp. He is survived by: his wife Jean Brown of North Vernon; his children, Marty Brown of South Carolina, Jeffrey Brown of Florida and Stephanie Amos (Leslie Briner) of Indiana; and his grandchildren, Katelyn Johnson (Tyler), Ben Brown, Stacey Brown, Ethan Brown, Regan Brown, Natalie Coers and Nathan Amos. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
