He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Smith and Thelma Smith (Couch); his daughter Pamela Sue Smith Baker; and his siblings, Melvin, Ricky, Bob, Thern, Emajean Smith and Sylvia Brumley.
He is survived by: his children, William Steven "Billy" Smith, Rick Earl Smith and Trisha Smith Bertram; his stepson J. R. Adams; his former wife Georgetta Izora Warner; his siblings, J. D. Smith, Donald Smith, Annalee Collins, Ivory Campbell, Darlene Smith and Evelyn Brock; and his grandchildren, Julia Henry, Patricia Perkins, Pierce Baker, Wayl0n Baker, Billy Smith, Keegen Adams, Jason Bertram and Kylie Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home (420 S State St, North Vernon, IN 47265). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Tea Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (5280 S County Rd 300 W, North Vernon, IN 47265).
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Bill to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
