He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Barber (Judy) of North Vernon and Linda Ellerbrook of North Vernon; his siblings, Bob Barber (Janet) of North Vernon, Mike Barber of Vernon, Betty Lou Shepherd (Pete) of North Vernon and Stella Cummings (Kenny) of Zenas; his grandchildren, Lori Leahigh (Scott Vogel) of North Vernon, Shanna Byram (Casey) of North Vernon, Justin Ellerbrook of North Vernon and Brian Barber (Kathy) of Seymour; his great grandchildren, Garrett Leahigh (Morgan) of North Vernon, Mary Leahigh of North Vernon, Ben Leahigh of North Vernon, Mackenzie Byram of North Vernon, Kyle Byram of North Vernon, Luke Barber of North Vernon, Conner Byram (Teddi) of Greenwood and Isaiah Barber (Brianna Herald) of Vernon; and his great great grandchildren, Eva Leahigh of North Vernon, Emilia Leahigh of North Vernon and Baylor Barber of Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Bennie through the funeral home to the American Heart Association and Our Hospice of Jennings County.
