He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Shafer and Pauline Shafer (Loy); and his sister Connie Lowe. He is survived by: his wife Janice Shafer of North Vernon; his children, Teresa Moore of Columbus, Rhonda Day (Kevin) of Columbus, Kevin Shafer (Laurie) of Columbus and Brett Shafer of North Vernon; and his sisters, Karen Neptune (Roger) of Columbus and Loretta Greene (Harold) of Columbus. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
