He is survived by: his wife Mary Jean Wendel of North Manchester; his children, Nancy Alspaugh of South Whitley, David Wendel (LuAnn) of North Manchester, Dean Wendel (Julie) of South Whitley and Norma Wendel of Fishers; his grandchildren, John Wendel (Christy) of South Whitley, Adam Wendel (Megan) of South Whitley, Jennifer Beyer (Scott) of Greenfield, Aaron Wendel (Carey) of Seattle, Jillian Hubertz (Will) of Lafayette, Nathan Alspaugh (Sheree) of Noblesville, Nicole Gordon of Fort Wayne, Allison Joy (Chris) of Columbia City and Lindsay Spieser (Luke) of Fort Wayne; and his niece Sandra Gray of Scottsdale, Arizona.. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
