He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank S. Stephens and Lola Coe Stephens (Beck); his sister Jane Fritsch; and his grandson Nicholas Sylvester. He is survived by: his wife Marie-Agnes Denise Stephens of North Manchester; his daughter Carol Sylvester (Rob) of Chico, California; his grandchildren, Matthew of Chico, California and Megan Sylvester of Chico, California; his nephew Carl Fritsch (Debra) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and his niece Nancy Leipzig (Bernard) of Waban, Massachusetts..

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mono Lake Committee.
