He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Newhart and Dorothy Newhart (Peter); his aunt Ruth (Newhard); and his brother Robert Newhart (Betty). He is survived by: his uncle James E. "J. E."; his wife Betty J. Whitten; his children, Rick Hamilton of South Bend, Ronald Hamilton (Tammy) of North Liberty, Randi Lawson (Carl "Bo") of Avon Park, FL and Ryan Hamilton of North Liberty; his daughters-in-law, Roxanne Hamilton of South Bend and Dana Hamilton of North Liberty; his brother Raymond Hamilton (Georgia) of Chattanooga, TN; and his sister-in-law Sandra Newhart of South Bend. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
