He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Richard (Butch) and Judy Johnson; and his great-uncle Raymond Layne. He is survived by: his parents, Joe Layne and Danielle Layne of North Liberty, IN.; his wife Dreya Layne (Soria); his daughter Alaia; his siblings, Anthony Layne (Laura), Joseph Layne (Lindsey) and Mindy Layne; and his grandparents, Clarence Layne (Linda), Candy Kamerer (Kyle) and William Lowery Sr.. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be given to Baby Layne.
