She was predeceased by: her parents, Catherine Lowry (Everly) and Forest Lowry (Tom); her son John Jr.; her sons-in-law, Thomas Daugherty and Gerald Wolff; her siblings, Don Lowry, Gail Lowry and Jean Hoffling; and her great great grandchild Nova Kurtz-Cramer.
She is survived by: her husband John D. Whitmer Sr.; her daughters, Shirley Betz of LaPorte, Kathy Daugherty of North Liberty, Betty Wolff of LaPorte and Shelby Whitmer of North Liberty; her siblings, Dean Lowry of Brownstown and Rosemary Schweder of Walkerton; her sisters-in-law, Martha Albert of Walkerton and Sharon Lowry of Bremen; and her grandchildren, Richard Betz (Pam), Kimberly Betz, Jill Hughes, Robin Risner (Tommy), Michael Daugherty (Denise) and Adam Daugherty.
