He is survived by: his wife Patricia Howard of North Judson; his children, Lon Collins (Vonda) of North Judson, John Collins of North Judson, David Collins (Carrie) of North Judson, Connie Salyer of North Judson and Olivia Shirley (Dan) of South Bend; his siblings, Hank Collins of Dutton, Justine Salyer of Knox and Jospehine Born of North Judson; his mother-in-law Ann Howard of North Judson; and his daughters-in-law, Bertha Collins of North Judson and Theresa Collins of North Judson, Indiana.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren 28 great-grandchildren 30 great-great-grandchildren.
