He was predeceased by: his parents, William McDowell and Helen McDowell; and his siblings, Gracia, William and Robert.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Kay Norris; his sons, Anthony Miller (Eva-Katrine), Steve McDowell (Heather) and Scott McDowell (Adrienne); his grandchildren, Noelle (Alex), Sarah, Seth, Hannah, Carter and Jordan; and his pet Boots.
