He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pettijohn and Helen Pettijohn (Burris); his wife Marjorie Vaughn Pettijohn; his son Robert Leslie Pettijohn Jr.; and his siblings, Martha Louise Pope and Charles Pettijohn.
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda Christenson (James); his grandchildren, Jacquelynn Marie Christenson, James Zachary Christenson and Jacob Andrew Christenson; and his stepdaughters, Pam Langford, Jimmye Sue Rogers and Billie Vaughn. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
