She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Capps and Edna Capps; and her sisters, Jimmiel Johnston and Jeanna Caldwell. She is survived by: her husband Len; her children, Caroline Smith of Roanoke and Austin Smith (Kelsey) of Atlanta; and her pet Gus.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia to honor her love of history.
