He was predeceased by: his brother George Decker; and his parents, George Decker and Jeanette Decker. He is survived by: his children, Cathleen Whitted (Chad Edmonson), James Edward Jr. and Matthew John Decker; his grandchildren, Kaila Kurtz (Darrin), Cody (Mar Hamilton) and Elizabeth Whitted; and his siblings, Cheryl Workman (Tom) and Al Decker. He is also survived by many brother and Sister In-laws and nieces and nephews.
