He was predeceased by: his parents, Iverson Whiteman and Dorothy Whiteman (Obenland); and his siblings, Charles Whiteman, Juanita Ferguson, Kenneth Whiteman, Marjorie Elsey and Mary Whiteman.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Teresa Whiteman (Romero); his children, Suzan Pinciotti, Ana Shull (Greg Trump), Donald G. Whiteman, Jr. (Kim) and Angela (Mike); and his siblings, Shirley Darnall (Harold), Iverson Whiteman, Jr. (Pam), Carole Ingram, Thomas Whiteman (Julie), Elizabeth Whiteman and Donna Ferguson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
