He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeanne Phelps and Dolphes Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Katherine; his daughters, Kaitlin Harpenau (Matt) and Lauren Baker (Liam Mathew); his grandchildren, Harrison Harpenau and Halle Mathew; and his sisters, Pam Dunville (Donald), Carol Hudson (Kenny) and Julie Phelps.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 2nd 2024 at 4:00 PM and on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Alexander Newburgh Chapel (5333 IN-261, Newburgh, IN 47630). A burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at the Rose Hill Cemetery (5133 Old Indiana 261, Newburgh, IN 47630).
