He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Rose and Oscar Smith; his wife Norma Jean; and his siblings, Mary, Norma, Claudel, Wonell and Linda.

He is survived by: his sister Joyce Montgomery (Donnie); his children, Robert Duane (Candace), Debbie Neese (Eric) of Evansville, IN, Donna Boyer of Evansville, IN and Diana Hoeche (Brian) of Boonville, IN; his great grandchild Sadie Smith of Evansville, IN.; and his grandchildren, Dawn, Amber, Sarah, Amy, Dillon, Brandon, Janay, Benny, David and Nathan.
