He was predeceased by: his father William Purdue. He is survived by: his wife Kristi Purdue (Palombit); his son Brian Purdue (Sandi); his grandson Seth; his daughter Jennifer James (Scott); his grandchildren, Heather Dougan (Kody), Dylan and Haven; his great grandchildren, Zoe, Barnabas, Boaz and Benjamin; his son Danny Purdue; his sister Barbara Barnett; his nephew William Barnett (Daryl); his niece Lana Greear (Adam); his father-in-law Theo Palombit; and his siblings-in-law, Janis Garrison, Linda Vickers and Michael Palombit (Leeann). He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evansville Rescue Mission or Christian Veterinary Mission.

We were good friends with the Purdue family during our 15 years as members of Newburgh Presbyterian Church. John was a great friend and a strong leader in the church. My heart hurts to hear of his passing…….he touched so many lives with his friendship and deep faith. God bless his family……….now he can tend to all God animals in heaven!”
