He was predeceased by: his parents, Leona Welte (Wagner) and Albert A. Welte; and his brother Delbert Welte. He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue "Susie" Welte (Wendholt); his children, Gina Osburn and Eric Welte (Kari); his grandchildren, Ethan Osburn, Jack Osburn, Amelia Osburn, Johnny Welte and Alice Welte; his stepgrandchildren, Wesley Chamberlain, Gavin Chamberlain and Autumn Chamberlain; and his siblings, Albert "Bud" Welte, Charles Welte (Patti), Virgil Welte, Janet Roe and Marjorie Sandleben. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
