He is survived by: his parents, Paul Vlas and Marilena Vlas (Popescu); his wife Oana Popescu-Sandu; his daughters, Alexandra Vlas and Clara Vlas; his brother Radu Vlas (Cristina); and his niece Margaret Vlas.
