She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Dowell and Delores Dowell (Bega); her great-aunt Mary Aline Wilkens (Rhinebarger) of New Albany; and her brothers, Henry Dowell, Jr. and James Dowell.
She is survived by: her great-uncle George; her former husband Paul Thacker; her children, Lisa Smith (Mike) of New Salisbury, Laura Brister (George Crone) of Salem, Leslie Walker (Jeff Davison) of Alexandria, KY and Larry Thacker (Shelly) of Greenville; her grandchildren, Bryan Thacker (Carrie) of Bedford, Christopher Brister (Rosemary) of Corydon, Alex Walker (Katie) of Fort Thomas, KY and Mistie Borders (Deven) of Jeffersonville; and her great grandchildren, Josiah Thacker, Christian, Skylar, Sofia Brister, Vincent Walker and Taylor Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the nursing scholarship program at Indiana University Southeast.
