He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Hughes and Ruth Hughes (Bevvins); his daughter Kathleen Dyer (Hughes); his siblings, Harry Hughes and Mona Rasegan; and his half-brothers, Larry, Patrick, William and Jerry Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Holtman (Condon); his children, Spring Hughes of New Paris, Dennis Hughes of Maryland and Robyn Hughes of Iowa; and his half-sister Sandra McBride. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
