He was predeceased by: his parents, James T. Shannon and V. Brady Shannon (Jennings); and his brother Joe Shannon. He is survived by: his wife Janet Shannon (Skiles) of New Palestine; his sons, Joseph W. Shannon of New Palestine and Matthew Shannon (Christine) of Greenfield; his sister Jimmie Lou Stuart of Greenfield; his grandchildren, Brayton Shannon (Mallory), Brooklyn Shannon and Halie Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Kingsley and Weston. He is also survived by several nephews and a niece.
