He was predeceased by: his father Jerry C. Sweeney; his parents-in-law, John and Ann Gaughan; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Sweeney, Daniel Gaughan and Jack Gaughan.
He is survived by: his mother Shirley L. Sweeney (Bartholomew) of Lawrence; his wife Kathy Sweeney of New Palestine; his children, Timothy Sweeney (Brandi) of Carlock, IL and Katie Trennepohl of Pendleton; his granddaughters, Emma Sweeney and Kaylee Trennepohl; his siblings, Daniel Sweeney of New Palestine, Maureen Sweeney of Lawrence and Carrie Lamb (Scott) of Beech Grove; and his sister-in-law Ann Michek (Gary). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
