It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lawrence Helkema of New Palestine, Indiana, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on March 12, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Helkema and Thelma Helkema. He is survived by: his significant other Nancy Elliott Welling; his children, Lauri A. Kritzer (Chad), Patricia Rzeszut, Angela Myers (Patrick), Drew Welling (Michelle) and Jame Welling; and his grandchildren, Ben Watson (Alaina), Chase Watson, Joshua Rzeszut, Matthew Rzeszut, Michelle Myers, Michael Myers, Melissa Myers, Emily Welling and Kaitlyn Welling.
