He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia S. Dawson Johnson; his stepmother Martha Ann Johnson; his stepbrother Jerry Zimmerman; and his parents-in-law, Arville Turpin and June E. Turpin.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Johnson; his children, Dakota Orwig (Gerald) and David Johnson (Lindsey); his granddaughters, Cheyenne, Kassidi, Laney Johnson and Alyssa Legran; his siblings, Joyce Brady, Jack Johnson (Renee) of Lafayette and Jeff Johnson of Florida; his stepbrothers, David Zimmerman (Sharon) of Wingate and Jeff Zimmerman of Lafayette; his friend Marsha Shepherd; and his family, Bonnie, Comfort Keepers, Visiting Angels and Guardian Angels. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
