It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ned Smitley Byer of New Haven, Indiana, born in Decatur, Indiana, who passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Byer and Margaret Byer (Smitley); his wife Mildred "Tudie" Byer; and his niece Phyllis Franke. He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Bob of Decatur and Gloria Bowen of Decatur; and his nieces and nephews, Tom Franke (Christa) of Monroeville, Jim Bowen (Karen) of Decatur, Gerry Franke of Monroeville and Diane Zeser (Tim) of Decatur. He is also survived by several cousins and many friends.
Preferred memorials are to the church, Worship Anew, or Honor Flight Northeast Indiana.
