He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leslie Funk Sr. and Marlowe Funk; his son Scott Turner; his wife Sandra Kay Funk; his children, Sandy Kay Bougher (Kevin), Christina Funk, Rich Turner (Sondra) and Leslie Funk III; his grandchildren, Cassidy Bougher, Wyette Funk, Adelaide Funk, Greg Moyer and Zane Bougher; his great grandchildren, Jace and Callen Moyer; and his sisters, Freya Funk (Harry Sneed) and Renee Weber (Michael). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in his honor may be directed to Disabled Veterans of America or American Cancer Society.
