He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar W. Koeneman and Selma M. Koeneman (Horman); his stepfather Harold Melcher; and his sister Alice Kummer. He is survived by: his wife Mariann Koeneman of New Haven, Indiana; his sons, Michael Koeneman (Linda) of New Haven, Rev. David Koeneman (Nancy) of Decatur, Thomas Koeneman (Marilyn) of Fort Wayne, Jon Koeneman (Kelly) of New Haven and James Koeneman (Leeanne) of Garrett, Indiana; his sister Verna Ehle (Eugene) of New Haven, Indiana; his brother-in-law Dennis Kummer of New Haven, Indiana; his stepsiblings, Robert Melcher (Louise) of Decatur, Indiana and Margie Myer (Tom) of New Haven, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Hannah Koeneman, Sarah Burford (Willyam), Micah Koeneman (Gina), Emily Mann (Dalton), Martin Koeneman, Anna Koeneman, Benjamin Koeneman (Amanda), Scott Koeneman (Heidi), Lindsey Koeneman and Jamie Hathaway (Seth). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Preferred memorials are to Worship Anew, Concordia Theological Seminary (Food Co-Op) in Fort Wayne or St. Paul Lutheran Church, Gar Creek.
