He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Place and Ruth Place (Slentz); his wife Carol; his son Kevin Place; his siblings, Mary Lou Minich and Frederick Place; and his great grandchild Emerson Folkemer.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Place (Gail) of New Haven, Debby Minick (Steve) of Fort Wayne and Lori Colby (Wayne) of Utah; and his close friend Nancy Myer. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
