With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Elwood Mathew of New Harmony, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Madge Mathew (Maddox) and James Norman Mathew; and his sisters, Ruth Imogene Morgan, Anita Curtis and Helen Wasson.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Mathew (Stevens); his children, Kevin Mathew, Lee Ann Tennyson (Benny) and Joanie Beste (David); his grandchildren, Katie York (Brent), Clint Beste (Kara), Alexa Erkman (Preston Napier) and Ian Mathew; his great grandchildren, Boone York, Barrett York, Bo Beste and Raelyn Beste; and his sister Phyllis Arias. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Schneider Funeral Home (512 Main St, Mt Vernon, IN 47620). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 at the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
