Scott Madden Obituary

Scott Erick Madden, age 43, died suddenly in his New Castle, IN home on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Born on August 21, 1975, Scott remained in New Castle to stay close to family and friends. Two things brought joy to Scott's life above all else: his children - Alexa, Corbin, and Isaac - and fishing...yes fishing. We hope that made you smile because Scotty always wore a smile, no matter the size of the fish.

Instead it was about the people he fished with. Scott also took pleasure in watching his children, nieces, and nephews engage in volleyball, soccer, and basketball. He liked to play video games or board games with them, or watch the New Castle choir/band perform, whatever it took to just be with his kids. "Dad" was a title he wore with honor.

Scott was a 1994 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and maintained many friendships that started back in elementary school. Scotty was loyal. He had an infectious laugh and a generous heart. Even with the disabilities that plagued him later in life, there is nothing he wouldn't do for those he loved. Survivors include his children Alexa, Corbin, and Isaac Madden of New Castle; his mother, Debby (husband Danny) Isaacs of New Castle; his step mother Deloris Madden; his brothers, Jayson (wife Amy) Madden, Josh (wife Renee) Madden all of New Castle, Cully Johnson of Dallas, TX, Mike (wife Helen) Johnson of Menton, LA; his sister, Carrie (husband Jeff) Cravens of Muncie, IN; his grandparents, Conway and Betty Asberry of New Castle; his longtime girlfriend, Diana Blanch; and plenty of nieces and nephews to help keep him busy.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Charles Madden, his grandparents Denver and Elsie Madden, and his nephew, Grant Madden. Scott had a personal relationship with God and knew that when his time here was finished, he would be greeted by this family and more in heaven. Services will be Friday at 1pm at Marcum Community Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Gary Marcum and staff are honored to serve the family of Scott Erick Madden.
