It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jamie Stephens of New Castle, Indiana, who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Ellis and Beulah Thurman-Cross (Gibson); her husband Leo D. Stephens; and her brother Jim Thurman. She is survived by: her sons, Talmadge Stephens (Teresa) and Terry Stephens (Cynthia); her grandchildren, Amy Morrow (Mark), Jarod Stephens, Ryan Stephens (Diana) and Emily McDaniel (Dustin) of New Castle; her great grandchildren, Landree Morrow (Dillon Busby), Landen Morrow, Hannah Stephens, Conor McDaniel, Eleanor Stephens and Benjamin Stephens; and her siblings, Odean Thurman (Wanda), Sue Stockton (Jack), Betty Wiles (Gale) and Larry "Mike" Thurman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service (3406 S Memorial Dr, New Castle, IN 47362). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
