He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Leyes and Margaret Leyes (Smith); his siblings, Caroline Leyes, Catherine Leyes and Frank; his sister-in-law Mable Leyes; his in-laws, George and Margaret Mary Haemmerle; and his brother-in-law Jim Haemmerle.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Leyes of New Castle; his children, Michael Leyes of New Castle, Jennifer Flinta (Dan) of Fishers, David Leyes (Anna) of Milton and Brian Leyes (Megan) of Grand Blanc, MI; his grandchildren, Samantha Chatwin (Josh) of Muncie, Sara Mallott (Grant) of New Castle, Dawson Leyes of Muncie, Alivia Leyes of Milton, Dane, Jillian, Christopher Flinta, Margaret and Matthew (Molly Leyes); and his great grandchild Olivia Chatwin of Muncie.
