He is survived by: his wife Elva Hoots (Riddle); his children, Judy Melton (Roger) of New Castle and Gary Hoots (Brenda) of Straughn; his grandchildren, Jeremy Hoots, Jared Hoots, Josh Hoots, Gage Ferrell and Braxton Ferrell; and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Miah, Jensen, Asher, Bentlee, Carlie, Chandler, Brody and Aiven.
