He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Jackson (Lear) and William A. Jackson Sr.; his wife Mary Louise Jackson; his brother Brainard Jackson; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Sue Jackson and Hazel Jackson.

He is survived by: his children, Donald Jackson (Kimberly), Barb Hiller (David) and Elizabeth Jackson Livingston (Joey); his brother Arthur Jackson; and his grandchildren, Rachel Newdigate (Brian), Dustin Hiller, Bryan Jackson (Kerry), Stephanie Jackson, Cole Hobbs and Lauren Hobbs. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
