He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Spray and Nora Spray (Sweeney); his wife Iona Spray (Davis); his brother Leslie Spray; and his granddaughter Melissa Engle.
He is survived by: his children, Doug Spray (Sally), Debbie Burton (Bob) and Shari Engle (Tom); his grandchildren, Stacy Osburn (Tim), Shawn Burton (Jennifer), Brent Engle (Lindsay), Lindy Short (Danny), Bryan Engle (Lauren), Ashley Spray and Adam Spray (Stefanie); and his great grandchildren, Logan Mullins (Jarad), Seth (Kelsey), Sam Short, Jacob, Tyler Burton, Chaz, Chandler, Rylan, Hudson Engle, Klaire, Beau and Everett Spray.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations in Thurman's name to the Salvation Army Office in New Albany, Indiana.
