He was loved and cherished by many people including: his stepfather Don Fulkerson; his brother Donnie Mercer; his wife Betty Mercer (Goldsmith); his parent Delores Fulkerson (Trent); and his children, Stephany Mercer (Jason), Stephen Mercer (Vivian), Donnie Mercer (Brittney) and Kris Mercer (Samantha). He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
