It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Roselyn Palmer Stephens of New Albany, Indiana, who passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Palmer and Eva Hubbard Palmer; and her siblings, Jean Douglas (Andy), William (Jane) and Robert (Elaine).
She is survived by: her sister Naomi Frazier Corsini (Tim); her sister-in-law Elaine Palmer; her children, Dr. Robert W. (Susan), Dr. Doyle L. (Myra), Barbara Stephens Bitzegaio (Barry) and Susi Stephens Jordan (Kevin); and her husband Herbert Barr.
She was a voracious reader and continued to sew, quilt, bake pastries and pies and play piano and clarinet into her mid-90's. A lifelong Christian, Mary attended church regularly until Covid, then she would faithfully tune in for online services.
