He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Balmer Sr. and Ethel Keibler Balmer; his siblings, Fred Balmer Jr. and Veta Mae Dowdle; his son Martin Goodier; and his wife Patricia Balmer.
He is survived by: his sister Alice Schleicher (Richard); his children, Ronald Balmer, Rebecca Elkin (Jerry), Marcia Coyle (Otis) and Laura Spencer (Troy); his daughter-in-law Michelle Goodier; and his grandchildren, Jason Elkin (Bethany), Matthew Balmer, Adam Elkin (Christine), Michael Coyle (Liz), William Coyle, Amanda Adams (Denny), Daniel Balmer (Laurie), Jessica Goodier (Cole), Nicole Goodier, Cameron Coyle (Kyle) and Gabriel Balmer. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Atkins Chapel United Methodist Church (7834 Atkins Rd, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119).
